Lega masks called Lukwakongo were used for teaching at Bwami society initiations. These masks were either hung on fences, piled in stacks with other masks or attached to the face or different parts of the dancer’s body. The mask is in good condition with a vertical age crack on the left facial plane and two chips on the back rim.
