The expressive polychrome face of this mask has slit eyes, angular nose, open aggressive mouth baring teeth and a panel shaped handle. The headdress is woven fiber with five raised cone forms. Attached to the mask’s rim is a collar of raffia. Yaka masks were used during initiation ceremonies representing male cult heroes. The Mask in very good condition with some abrasions on handle.
