The Gagon mask of the Northern Dan is a variation of bird-beaked mask that probably represents the hornbill or toucan.  The mask is danced for entertainment and is associated with the mythological creation bird of the past.  This miniature mask has slit eyes, a large beak or snout, the lower jaw is moveable, there are tattoos around the face and it has black money fur.
